Daisychain from external thunderbolt SSD to a non-TB monitor using miniDisplay port?

From a Mac mini 2012, will I be able to daisychain a thunderbolt-equipped external storage device to a non-thunderbolt monitor (specifically the ACD 30"), since the miniDisplay port adaptor I currently use for this monitor is compatible with a thunderbolt port?

(This monitor also uses one USB port, via a dual-link adaptor)
