Bootcamp on 840pro possible with USB/TB
I have a new IMac on the way and I have an 840 pro 256gb SSD.. Can I put it in a TB or USB enclosure and run Windows7/8 solely on the SSD via Bootxamp? Is this possible? Any recommendations? Thanks guys!

You can install/run Windows on the SSD with some Thunderbolt enclosures. I have had good success with the Seagate GoFlex Thunderbolt interface using the 256GB Samsung 840 Pro. I had no success with a LaCie "Little Big Disk" (single disk only) and the Pegasus J4, neither of which claimed to be Windows compatible.
I have not tried using USB enclosures.
There are several threads here which you can search for discussing this in more detail.

BTW: I was using the bus-powered portable GoFlex interface, but I would imagine the desktop version would work as well, but be much more bulky.
