iPad: iPad 3 Orange Blob on Dark Images

Hi,

While using my ipad today I noted an orangish blob on the bottom left of my screen whenever I am on darker backgrounds with my brightness up. If I am viewing a site like MacRumors I cannot see a trace of this.

I am wondering what I did to cause this to happen, and how much it would cost to get fixed, or if it is a common defect that just took a while to appear.
