The lowly iPod touch has retina and so will the mini. 6-12 months, people! :p

I'm going to sell my iPad Mini NOW. I'm going wait in line for the Retina Mini. First in line! ;)

Nothing wrong with hand-me-downs :)

Ill just sell the current mini or give it to a family member

That's exactly what I've been saying. :)
Or be really kind and generous and visit a poorer suburb and give it to someone.
But just make sure you wipe all your personal data first. :)

I'm kinda thinking that a lot of Apple fans will actually hang on to the 1st gen iPad Mini. It's something of a collectors item.

But getting back on topic... Retina display ...we can only hope so.
IGZO is ready, but is Mini ready for IGZO?

It will. I think Apple just wanted to give developers enough time to develop apps with the new resolution. They wouldn't want to release a tablet that had no native apps. We'll hear about it at next June's WWDC. They wouldn't have wanted to drop the news at last June's WWDC because that would have given away their new product. Ironically, though, most of us already new about the iPad mini last June based on component leaks.

What new resolution?

It's the same 1024 x 768 as the iPad 1 & 2

All the apps already work

Exactly. The context of my quote is in reference to when Apple releases a Retina mini, which, by the way, is the topic of the thread.
