Importing Address Book Data
Old computer had Address Book in OS 10.6. Backed up on Time Machine.
New computer (MBP) is running OS 10.7. How can I drag and drop from the ext. HDD with Time Machine onto the new computer? Is that a plist in a Library? Folder names and locations would be appreciated on source drive and target drive. I want to avoid using Time Machine as I've only backed up but never restored. Unless there is a simple explanation for TM. |

Just look at /Applications/Utilities/Migration Assistant. You can just import then Data you want from the Time Machine.

Without knowing Time Machine of Migration Assistant, can you just tell me where I can manually drop the 2 backed up support files for Address Book?
The files are named Metadata and Addressbook-v22, and were found in the Application Assistant folder (under USER>LIBRARY) in OS 10.6. I've got the files on a flash drive, but don't know where to put them in OS 10.7 Please, I don't want an education in TM or MA. I prefer to do this manually. Can you help me? |
