How do notifications work on galaxy phones?
For the S3 for example for text messages, email, twitter and notifications for apps like espn scorecenter or any sport updates apps.. Do they make a noise when they come through? Does the screen light up to let you know you have a notifcation? How exactly does it work differently to the iphone notifications?

You can customize the sound, vibration, etc. or lack thereof for each service There is a LED light that can notify you about notifications too (like SMS, Mail, Facebook, etc.) without needing to turn on the screen! |

So the screen won't light up but you will still hear the sounds when they come through? Ok I see.. |

You can also download an app to customize the color of the notification led for incoming notifications. Missed calls can be red, emails can be blue, text, can be green, etc..
