.rec to .mp4?

I need to convert .rec video files to .mp4 files , any free way to do this?

I tried handbrake but it's so very slow to convert files, e.g 1GB takes over 1 hour.

Any suggestions please?

Try MPEGStreamclip. It supports rec files.
