I currently use "Target Display Mode" to share iMac display with my pc....
If I add a second monitor on the mac side, will this second display also be accessible by the PC?
Ideally, I'd like to have the dual monitor setup for both the mac AND the pc.

Nope, you have to connect the second monitor to your Windows based computer (if that is what "PC" stands for) directly.

What if I did this:
27" iMac > Mini Displayport to DVI splitter > DVI to Secondary 24" Samsung Monitor HDMI Other connector of Mini Displayport to DVI splitter > HP Desktop PC Wouldn't that allow me to have dual monitors (extended) while on the Mac AND also have dual monitors on the PC side while utilizing Target Display Mode? What about a Mini Displayport splitter to 2? Google searches bring up a discontinued product that was in the right price range and another 4 splitter by Atlona Tech for over $200. Kind of steep.. Any ideas? (Currently, I use my Imac for personal computing and the HP Desktop PC for CAD Design (sharing the iMac monitor) Last edited by chillwill; Feb 20, 2013 at 01:00 AM. |
