Hi guys
I have a pretty old Mac Mini 2.0 2009. I decided to give him a new life and upgrade its ram and hdd (with ssd). Today I finally got my ssd (Intel 520 120GB 2.5" SATAIII MLC). I put it in place and turned the mac on. I did nothing with ssd first, just took it out of the box and put it into mac, cause I was guessing the MacOS would do all the formatting part. So i turn the Mac on, put in the default MacOs X Install Disc. It went ok until I got the screen where it asks me to choose the drive I want to install the OS onto. And it was empty. So system does not see or recognize my SSD. How should I handle that? Do I need to format the ssd first? How can I do it via Mac without OS? Would greatly appreciate any help, cause I'm stuck. Thanks in advance. |

Oh, I guess I'm just a very very poor mac-user (this is actually my sister's mac, and i never used it a lot).
Of course there a DiscUtility in Utilities! I formatted the ssd with its help and now the OS is installing. Sorry for panic
