iCloud Mail alias question

So I know you can have 3 aliases plus your main iCloud account. My question is if I create an alias to sell something quick on Craigslist, once I sell the item and I delete that alias, does incoming mail to that particular alias get rejected or does it show up in my main iCloud mail account?

Took this from Apple's support website:

Deleting an alias is permanent, so if you think you might want to use the alias again, you should simply turn it off. When an alias is turned off, all email sent to that alias is returned to the sender.
