Far Cry 3
Anyone else playing this?
I have just started it and it feels worlds better than the mess that was Far Cry 2. This game wasn't even on my radar but so far it actually seems like a great game, which is a nice surprise. I am currently playing it on the macbook in my sig at 1440x900 with the video settings at medium, it looks great and feels really smooth. I did put the settings up to high but was getting a little slow down when turning fast. I put the settings down to low and the game still looked pretty good. Really quite annoyed that it won't be on steam in the UK, I like having my games all in one place. |

Sounds nice! You think it will run on 2.4 i7 and AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512MB?
Can i overclock my graphic processor? thanks, Conrad |

I have no idea how it will perform on that card, the half VRAM could cause problems, but without testing it I can't say.
You can overclock the video card but different cards have different results, some are just better than others, not sure about yours but there are some generic overclocking instructions you could follow and test the results for yourself, I collated them here: http://dualbootmac.wordpress.com/overclocking/ |

Picked it up last night on Steam, really loving it so far. Very tense intro, great characters and (so far) quite addictive gameplay. I'll be on this for a while I think!
It's very much a blend of Borderlands 2, Just Cause 2 and bits of FarCry 1 and 2. And all those games are great too.

Definately will get this after I play through Crysis 2 again, Far Cry has never interested me before. Hope my 5870 can manage it.

It's definitely a great game! One of the first that actually makes my gaming PC drop down to less than 30 FPS too, crazy stuff.

With the latest MBP with the 650m 1GB I can run Far Cry 3 decent at an average of 45FPS on Medium settings. Game still looks great and better than it does on Xbox 360 at these settings. I am running mine under Win7 with the latest nVidia drivers that are suppose to improve performance with Far Cry 3 and Battlefield 3.

Graphics were awesome. Game play was good, but that story? Seriously? Worst story I have played in my whole life. Perfect game for children.

^ I'm running a 5870 (more powerful than 6870) and find the game stutters at 1920 x 1080 with settings on Ultra, and that's with 24gb ram and 8 cores!!!
I run now on 'optimal' which has everything on high with ambient light on medium. But annoys me game can't run better when other games I have run maxed out and look great (like Hitman absolution) and come to think of it Assasins Creed 3 on PC has same problem. Maybe its a Ubisoft lazy PC optimisation at play on both titles... Also day 1 patch got rid of multicore option. Is there anyway to turn it back on??? Despite that, game is fantastic.

It should work on the hd4000. Not on nice settings but playable on all low with the res up at like 720p.my friend plays it like that on a computer with a hd3000 so it should def work on the 4000.
