i have a WD elements external hard drive and a WD TV HD Media Player. if i format the hard drive to be able to transfer stuff from my macbook pro onto it, will the media player still be able to read the hard drive? or do i have to format the hard drive also?
I have a WDTV live, and I believe the drive is formatted as NTFS.. you can write to it from a mac, but you have to install the correct software to do so.
The other option if you can do it, is to network it.. then it will appear under 'network' on your mac, and then you can send files to it.
I have mine setup that way, so I simply drag over the files I want, and it copies via cat5 upstairs to my living room.. no more messing with moving drives around the house.
