Every night when I get home. The possibility of shortening battery life is far outweighed by the more immediate concern of having my phone die out in the middle of nowhere.

Either your battery is getting tired and/or you may have a lot of backgrounds services running.

I think it's unnecessary to charge it every night (unless its on a nightstand or something).

I put mine on charge whenever I'm home or in my car, like to keep it topped up at all times.

Plug my iPhone 5 in to charge every night regardless of percent of charged to start day at 100%. Always lasts all day for what I need it for.

It's best to charge a lithium based battery above 50% to prolong the batteries life as much as possible.

Never bother to look at percentage. I charge it every night. If I forget one night I just charge it the next night. It lasts two days, no problem.
