Open Apps

If you don't close an app and just switch to another, does the first one or any others in the background cut into your battery life?

All apps running in the background will have an affect on your battery life, yes! Try to close all your apps unless you vitally need to keep some open!
I generally keep my mail and social media apps open as i use them regularly!
