Finally got @icloud e-mail address

Is there a simple way of transferring from g-mail?

Want to go iCloud for e-mail only with minimum hassle

Setup both in the Mail app on your Mac. Very easy to copy over your messages from one account to another.

You can setup gmail (via the website) to forward new emails to your gmail account over to another account (like your new @icloud address).

If you do that, then you wouldn't have to check your gmail account separately while you are telling everyone about your new @icloud address.

And if you're looking to copy your old gmail emails over to iCloud, then follow ugahairydawgs' suggestion.
