I'm planning on getting my first iPhone and I'm planning on getting only the 1GB plan on Verizon. My question is, after I've purchased the phone, can I upgrade to a larger data plan in the future? If so, is there a fee involved? Does anyone know how much this fee would be?

Yes. And there's no fee to up your data. However of you switch in the middle of your cycle they will pro rate the data charges for the month plus the month in advance.

You can raise your data and lower it as much as you want to. Ive never had a problem doing it. Just go to your my verizon webpage and change it to what you want.
