most of the files i download are in mkv, this is a pain as i want to import them into iTunes and put them on my advices and such

i am looking for a dvd converter than will convert mkv to mp4 and keep the original size and video quality and very importantly the audio quality

i will spend something between 0-50£ on it and the best i can find so far is miro video converter however the video looses a bit of quality and the audio is terrible, please help.

Handbrake ( http://handbrake.fr/ ) is the best there is. If you want to simply remux the .mkv into an .mp4 without sacrificing any video or audio quality at all, then I recommend iFlicks (available on the Mac App Store).

Handbrake is OK, and you could choose the iTunes output settings, or else maybe you'd better turn to Mac App Store to get a MKV Converter.
