I have a Verizon iPad mini on the way. I've been reading about the complications of getting a new sim from Verizon or Apple that will allow you to reestablish a prepaid, not postpaid, account in the event your account gets deactivated intentionally or through a lapse of time. The only Verizon nano sim I can find on Ebay is for the iPhone 5.

So my question is: Will a new iPhone 5 nano sim work in the iPad mini, and let you establish or reestablish a prepaid month-to-month , not postpaid, Verizon data plan? If so, I would like to order one now and put it in the iPad before activating the prepaid plan. This would let me know that the sim was indeed working, and allow me to keep the original sim for backup or for when I sell the device later.

Thanks.
