Can 2010 MacBook Pro drive 1920x1200 pixels?

Okay, I'm a bit puzzled here. I just picked up a 24" Asus PA248Q display. It's a mid-range IPS monitor, 1920 x 1200 and a response time of 6ms.

I'm driving this monitor with a 2010 MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo that has a NVIDIA GeForce 320M video card.

When running any online YouTube or embedded video to full screen I get a choppy playback. Not super bad, but noticable that frames are dropped. Movies played back from my hard drive seem to be okay.

Conversely, my older 7 year old 2.0gHz iMac Core Duo with an ATI plays the same online video back perfectly. But it's only driving 1680 x 1050 pixels.

Is this a bandwidth or video card issue? Or both. Is 1920 x 1200 pixels just too much information to drive?

My really old desktop with an AMD Athlon XP and 9700 pro used to drive 1920x1200 monitor and that was used for video music playback and other stuff so I would say a definite yes, It should be no problem.

Update to the latest version of Flash, that may help some, but your computer should not have any trouble driving that display.

Yeah, I figured the same. This shouldn't be a problem to drive.
Could it be bandwidth?
Or maybe the mini-dp to HDMI cable is the issue. I read that DVI might be the better way to go?
