All iPads Move previously installed iphone apps to new ipad?

My wife has a lot of precioualy installed apps on her iphone 5 and would like to install the same apps on her new ipad mini. Is there a way to link the two devices so that the previously purchased/downloaded apps on her iphone are installed on her ipad? Would this be limited to apps that only have an ipad version?

It should be pretty simple as long as your wife is using the same AppleID for both the iPhone and the iPad. On the iPad mini navigate to:
App Store ->Purchased -> Not on this iPad. The select the apps that you want to install.

Or, connect the iPad mini to the machine with the iTunes library on it that your wife syncs her iPhone, and select those apps to sync.
