WTF! Apple holds patent for rectangular device with rounded corners

Hello,

You’re probably pretty fed up with hearing the words “Apple” and “patent” used in the same sentence. Believe this or not, but the Apple has just been granted a patent that might make take the funny out of those jokes: the design for a rectangular device with rounded corners is now officially in Apple's portfolio of intellectual property. It's a patent filed for when the original iPad was released not really specific to tables these days

It's unclear from the article exactly what was patented. The statement is "a rectangle with rounded corners." But there would have to be more to it than that, especially in light of the fact that many devices shaped that way have preceded the iPad. I would assume that it was a patent for the use of those rounded corners and those specific proportions in the design of a tablet.

But if it is simply a patent for rounded corners on a rectangle, the Patent Office truly is broken.

First similar tablet displayed by microsoft in june 2000 , i am sure they last thing they were worried about patenting was the generic shape !!!!!

And people say Apple never "borrow" peoples ideas or technology , Ha Ha

Um, what's news about this. I doubt it was the first patent granted to Apple regarding the iPad. So why is it such a big deal now?
