After doing extensive research and purchasing some Xeon 5160's to upgrade my 2006 Quad 2.66 Mac Pro, I'm thinking about instead getting Intels E Series Xeon processors and maybe BSEL modding them, to get my core count up to 8 on the cheap.

1st Q: How do you BSEL Mod? I'll google myself, but is it easy to do?

2nd Q: What processors will work on my 1,1 Mac Pro?

Will Intel Xeon E5340 2.40Ghz QUQI Clovertown Quad Core CPUs or Xeon E5345 2.33 GHz Quad-Core (SLAEJ) Processors work in the 1,1 Mac Pro?

How will the performance be compared to say the exorbitantly more expensive 5365 processor? Especially if I BSEL mod?

EDIT: After further research, it appears the E5345 runs with a FSB at 1333Mhz, thus making it impossible to BSEL mod.

Thanks
