Hello,

I have one very annoying issue. After 10.8.2 upgrade I have a problem with Dock. It is very simple to describe. In the middle of the work, the wallpaper becomes gray, advanced gestures freeze at that time (keybord and trackpad scrolling work) and Dock restarts itself. This process lasts ~1.5s.
It started to happens 20 days ago. I deleted all Dock related stuff in ~/Library. After that, maybe 10 days Dock worked as expected. Four days ago, I experienced again this crash, repeated the ~/Library clean up. But after 3 days, problem returned. Also, I checked hw with Apple HW test, reset SCM/PRAM...

Here is a log from specific time when this happens:
Code:
10/23/12 10:36:01.138 AM WindowServer[78]: CGXDisableUpdate: UI updates were forcibly disabled by application "Dock" for over 1.00 seconds. Server has re-enabled them.

10/23/12 10:36:23.471 AM com.apple.launchd[1]: (com.apple.dock.extra[187]) Exit timeout elapsed (20 seconds). Killing

Also crash log is attached.

Thanks in advance.

Same here

Hi korso!

I have exactly the same problem. Were you able to resolve this issue?

Thanks,
dlaxar

Actually, not permanently. I have about one crash in 4-5 days.

Here are the fix (not permanent):
1. Boot in Safe Mode and then restart
2. Remove from ~/Library/Application Support/Dock .db file
3. Remove from ~/Library/Preferences com.apple.dock.plist file
4. Remove from ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost file com.apple.dock.1E2F9FA9-3D82-5D73-A1BB-DC124E2BEAD6.plist (you'll have probably some other hash string - mine is 1E2F9FA9-3D82-5D73-A1BB-DC124E2BEAD6)
5. And at the end one normal restart

Steps 2-4 will erase your Launchpad, Mission Control and some other dock related prefs, so you should customize these again in System Preferences.

I read that some other people have also this problem, but can't find permanent workaround.

But no rules, really. Today, Dock crashes twice. Very, very annoying!
