Duplicate voice memos, not sure which ones to delete.

Most of my voice memos appear twice in iTunes. Only one of each syncs with my phone. Am I able to just delete any ones I want, or am I supposed to find the "correct" ones? (As in, the ones on my phone). Does it matter?

Must be Apples specialty - same with their own Note Pad - currently 4 copies of every note - w/o a way to tell who's who to delete.
