PPC DLNA server software?

I have been searching but haven't found anything, I have a Sony Bravia and would love to play my videos and photos direct to the TV,

Is there anything out there that can do this? I know there is DLNA software for windows! There must be a PPC software out there!!!

Servio is the closest I have found, it uses Java and says needs a 64bit Mac running Java 6 with 10.5. The DC Powermac G5 should fit so I will try out the 2 week free trial of the software. Only $25 for the full version.

I was just 2 minutes too late, I would not recommend it.

All my files were already in a format playable on the TV because I had been copying to a 4GB USB stick and inserting directly.

The folders are shoing up, but no video files.

It is the same for all my iPhoto library, all the events are listed, but when I select each one, nothing is viewable.

I think I will post a report on their Support Forums.

Just that it wasn't easy to uninstall and I think it installed a fair bit, I think I still have the installer, if so I'll look into it.
Thought it was eating resources as well but it's been a while so I am not sure what was actually so wrong in my case.

I just installed it and instantly removed it again, main reason is it uses internet bandwidth and I am on a limited internet connection, another reason it has two deamons running which I don't like, there is no uninstaller as I suspected and had to use Terminal commands to disable those first and then move two deamons to the trash.
It also uses the browser, WHY, why not an App?

So, no thanks.

I was able to use an older build of PS3 Media Server a few years ago on my Quad. I believe this will do the trick? I have a PPC compiled version saved for the day that I ever get a PowerMac again. (It may work on G5 only, what do you have?)

Yes, I have a 2.0 dual core late 2005 G5.

I would love a copy if you have it, we should add it to the list of PPC software!

On my phone currently... I'd be willing to upload it if it definitely works on other members G5s!

Long time lurker but decided to contribute to this as I was in this situation myself last year.

I tried several options and was even ready to pay for the proper solution.

I settled for Playback from Yazsoft. You will need to get the PPC version from the download page though. This works a treat for me serving video and music files from my G5 powermac to my Sony Bluray Player and I have had no cause for complaints.Best of all, it is free.

Hope this helps.

I've tried playback ppc version, but my mac says that architecture is not supported(even though I downloaded the PPC version), I've tried a lot of applications, but nothing works. Can you tell me which version of playback do you use.
I would like to connect my ppc with Sony Bravia kdl-nx700 tv.

Thanks for the help.
