Yep, I wish they would cut the military in a more responsible way, but I think letting the sequester happen is our only chance to get military cuts in the near future. SO it won't be good for the economy in the short term, but a smaller military will be good long term.

But tornado season is just starting. And the work NWS does with tracking storms and providing ample warning via the media and tornado sirens saves lives.

While I think the NWS should be at the very bottom of the list of programs to cut, I also think that it's kind of ridiculous to assume that if the NWS was slowly dissolved that we just wouldn't have weather forecasts anymore.

By no means am I knocking the NWS. Am just not falling for all the hysteria being bandied about by the media, fed by the incompetents in DC.

The current topic of sequestration reminds me of an old saying: be careful what you ask for; you might get it.
