Is the 2009 MBP 13'' screen better than the new 11'' MBA's?

I have a 09 13" MBP and my friend has a 2011 13" MBA. When we put the computers side by side, the MBA's screen looks pathetic, the colors are far dulling than on the MBP. The screens on the MBAs are preventing me from even considering them.
