I love me the 27" iMac but some websites the text is just too small for me. I'm using Chrome right now with a zoom extension that remembers each setting I adjust.

Does Safari have something similar, if so what's it called?

Zoombysite under Productivity in Safari Extensions. Zoom All is good one for Chrome.

Don't forget that Safari can decide a minimum font size in Safari > Preferences > Advanced.

It's disabled by default, I normally put it to 12. So if as you say some websites have too small font, now they will get bigger font. Websites with already bigger font will not be affected.
