Can the iPad mini with LTE be used as a GPS navigation device?
Does the iPad mini have GPS, compass and all the other sensors that the iPhone 5 has?
If so, technically the Maps application on the iPad mini with data connection should work as well, if not better, as on the iPhone making it a great in-car navigation system. Right? |

Yes. If you have a GPS app like Navigon or TOMTOM with maps stored on the device you don't even need a data plan.

Awesome. The mini with its size would make a great in-car dash/wind shield mounted navigation device. Surprisingly I don't see much discussion online about people using the mini for this purpose.

The iphone makes a better one. Plus the Mini is still too big for this.
