iPad mini screen is junk

If you have kids or are a bit clumsy do not go for a mini. The screen shatters easily. Its definitely not gorilla glass, meaning strong. Apple's going to face tons of shattered screens after Xmas. The screen on the nexus 7 is much tougher.

My wife only "let me" buy one if I got a good case and screen protection at the same time. I tend to drop things.

all the drop tests i've seen have shown it to be more durable than the nexus 7, but he you are probably only here to stir the pot right?

You do realise that Gorilla glass is more to do with scratch resistance than shatter resistance?

The process of hardening the glass actually makes gorilla glass slightly more prone to cracking/shattering than normal toughened glass.
