When I'm at home I have no problem sending or receiving mails from my @me.com mail using the Mail app, but when I'm at school, a warning sign appears next to my inbox and iCloud in the sidebar, when I click on it it says:

The server returned the error: The connection to the server “p01-imap.mail.me.com” on port 993 timed out.

I can succesfully send and receive my mails through icloud.com, but not using the Mail app.

Any ideas why this happens and what to do?

It may be that your school is blocking outgoing email from port 993. Check with the IT crew there and they can tell you.

They wasn't sure, but said it probably did. Is it possible to get around this?
