Can anyone explain to me why my video won't upload to YouTube in HD?

Alright people, quick question for you. When I make a screen record using QuickTime, the video plays in HD after it is finished recording, but then, once it is uploaded to YouTube, it is back to 360p. I've even looked online for how to do it and followed a video on how to export it to HD through iMovie, but even that isn't working. Does anyone know how to make it upload in 1080p HD, or should I not use QuickTime to make a screen record?

Instead of using iMovie, as long as it's less than 2Gb, just upload it direct on the YouTube website.
