Mac mini is the best machine for sole music production of those you listed. If you set those two ssd hard drives to raid zero you would get over 750 read and write speeds. Plus two hard drives can be great for production as is. The mini has a better cpu than a 2.9 i5. Solely because of hyperthreading which will show 8 cores in programs like logic. The imac 21.5 i7 cpu is a great one to go for but then you get a pie in the face over buying ram.The 27 imac would be beautiful but you prob won't get pure ssd or i7 cpu. Most important for audio = Cpu, Hard drive speed, Ram. Prob in that order. Mini ticks those boxes plus its easy to upgrade in a few years. I bought a 2.6 i7, dual ssd, 16gb ram machine myself and its very capable.

Plus if you get pure ssd in the mini no moving parts equals no fans and no noise! Ive only heard my machines fans once!

Do you have an audio interface now?
Is it firewire based?

The new Mini retains a firewire 800 port.
The 2012 iMacs have lost the firewire port, but have 2 Thunderbolt ports (you can buy a Thunderbolt-to-firewire adapter from Apple for $30).

Having the large display with the Mini may be advantageous for large projects with a lot of windows open and a long "music timeline".

i have firewire apdater if i need ..

i have screen for the mac mini , but the screen its not the point .
what to take for music ?
