How to convert large amount of documents to PDF?
I have about 15-20 3" binders of schoolwork. Is there any efficient and inexpensive way to scan all the documents and turn them into searchable PDFs?

Many photo-copy machines have the ability to scan to PDF. If your papers are loose there is usually a tray on top where you can stack them and it will automatically grab them one-by-one.

Evernote can do this, and you can sort it easily afterwards too.
