I have setup my FreeBSD box and Windows7 to run as wifi hotspot. Both machines get their net off the ethernet and have use spare wifi cards as hotspot. The wifi card I'm using uses N and 2.4Ghz frequency which is nothing unusual.

The iPod can detect my wireless router though which uses N and 2.4Ghz frequency as well.

Anyway, my android devices (HTC One x and Asus Transformer Infinity) and 4s/iPad1/iPad3 can see both but not the ipod touch. My 2 laptops can see the 2 hotspots too.

I've reset network settings on the ipod but still can't see. According to the ipod touch wiki entry, the 4th gen should be able to use all wifi standards except A.

Any ideas? Thanks! :)

edit: just did a full system reset and even if the device is an inch away from the antennas, it still can't see it.
