Left hand at 9 o'clock. That's really all you need for a LHD car in normal driving situations. On the highway, hands at 9 and 4 o'clock.

I don't use hands. I use Hanz, my personal driver.

At 6 on the left and right touching radio/stick/self or anything on the passenger that involves the other gender.

No really serious note, 6 on either one due to comfort.

Right hand at the centre of the wheel for any necessary horn action. Left hand at 10 o'clock.

So? You can still answer the question. How many hands does Hanz drive with, and at what position?

"Hanz drives with his feet, for Hanz has no hands for with which to drive with".

I've spent a lot of time on the race track, and it was hammered into our heads early: both hands on the wheel, shoulder width and height. I drive like that on the road (along with shuffle steering).

For my 50th birthday (a long time ago) I went to Buck Baker's Nascar Driving School. They taught hand position 10 and 2.

However, with the three spoke wheel in the cars I've had, I'm more comfortable at 3 and 9, and there are thumb notches in the horizontal spokes which facilitate that position.

As far as how many hands on the wheel...both hands ALWAYS on the wheel...aside from the brief removal of right hand to shift.
