Appleworks to Pages & Numbers?
I have finally decided to join the 21st century by upgrading from an ancient (1999) eMac to a 2012 iMac. I have many files from Appleworks 6 that I'd like to convert to Pages or Numbers. They are mostly word processing or spreadsheet files. Will they be readable by Pages & Numbers? Also, I have a Palm Desktop with data from my Palm Pilot (remember those?) that I'd like to move to the iMac. Any chance of that? How about MacIntax data transfer. Help for this 70+ (still working) seasoned citizen would be appreciated.

As far as I understand, the iWork suite will only open Apple Works 6 documents/spreadsheets/etc. Have you tried yet?

No iMac yet!
Unfortunately, I won't be getting my 21.5" iMac from MacMall until early January 2013. I'm just trying to get some advice prior to importing from the eMac.

Oh well then, I think you will find yourself to be okay. There are converters I think, but coming from AW 6, I don't think you'll need it.
