Health insurance seems to be one of the main culprits here. We need to have health insurance, public or private, or more likely a combo of the two, that is not tied to a worker's place of employment and goes with the employee wherever.

We need national healthcare, to remove the burden of Health insurance from the employer.

If we can spend trillions killing people, we sure as hell can afford to spend a fraction of that keeping people healthy and out of debt for doing so.

The burden of Health Insurance is in the profit motive.
