Alright, so I hope this is the right place for this question.
A little background info: I am using a Canon Vixia HF R11 to record videos, have a 32 GB memory card in it, and also am using a Seagate 1TB external hard drive for storage. My Mac is a 24-inch Early 2008, runs Mac OS X 10.7.5, 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
My two videos are 1h20m each and fit on the memory card in my camera with time and room to spare. When I transfer my videos over to my external drive using iMovie the files suddenly become 64 GB each, with a smaller 1.5 GB file that has very poor video quality (faces are blurry and unrecognizable).
My question is, how do I get my videos to maintain their smaller size without giving up quality? I need to fit these videos onto a single disc so that others in my field can watch and learn from these videos.
Thank you in advance.
