Intel Wants 100 Thunderbolt Devices by Year's End

I saw this article and I just had to laugh.

Thunderbolt laptops have been out for a year? by the end of this year, over a year and a half? and they want a staggering 100 peripherals - wow talk about thinking big lol. You could probably walk into a major city and buy 100 USB 3.0 devices off the shelf

I think thunderbolt has its place and its great for the high end stuff but its never going to break into mainstream until it starts to being out 'normal' peripherals...

Thunderbolt 2.5" caddies
Thunderbolt to Gigabit adapters
etc.

These would fly off the shelfs if sensibly priced.

Thunderbolt IS for high end stuff. Docks, external raid arrays, HD video capture. I don't know how many people are going to spend $60+ for a thunderbolt GB-E adapter.

I'm pretty sure a thunderbolt 2.5" external enclosure already exists. Elgato makes a unit that has a SSD in it.
