I'm very happy that iBooks is finally coming to Mac, although many years late, but the only thing is the textbook selection on iTunes is weak. Can you only get books from there? Or can you buy eBooks or something elsewhere?

If iBooks works like it does on my iPad, I can get a PDF of a textbook and add it to iBooks.

iBooks uses epub format for books. If you can buy a textbook without DRM in epub format it will work in iBooks.
