Latest itunes still supports original iPhone?
I got a buddy with one of the original (yes original iPhones). He wants to update to iTunes 10 and then iTunes 11 in a few days. Will the latest iTunes still support his original iPhone?

I dunno, I'll get back to you once I install iTunes 11 and test.

I'm pretty sure the current iTunes still supports my iPod Mini from 2004.
So while I don't know, I'd say your odds are good that the first iPhone will be good for a few more years. |

It will work (for the most part iTunes will be backwards compatible for previous hardware). I've had 2G, 3G, 4 and 5 plugged into my computer within the last month and a half and all run fine on a late 2011 MBP w/ all updates current.

The very first iPod still syncs perfectly fine with iTunes.
I think it'll be just fine.
