Yes, that could be the case. If you dive through the literature, you'll see plenty of evidence for the health impact of a significant drop in our carb intake. Volek and Phinney are as good a place as any to start perusing the literature.
OTOH, I know of no literature linking these gizmos to long-term improvements in body composition and overall health. Hapilabs has a page where they talk about "the science" of their toys, but no published papers whatsoever are cited. Until they provide actual peer-reviewed science, I'm skeptical of any claims this company makes. We really have no idea if the Hapilabs claims are true -- let alone if their methodology has any advantage whatsoever to simply cutting out the carbs. All things equal, the mechanisms that are designed into our biology are superior to using some gadget -- and nothing has been provided to show that all things are equal. |
