2010 Air and Thunderbolt Monitor

I have an extra TB monitor, and my wife has a 2010 Air. I've done some research, and it looks like this version of the Air DOES NOT work with this monitor - is this correct?

You can sort of use a 2010 Air with a TBD if you have say a Mini connected to the TBD, and then use "Share Screen" via a peer-to-peer network. I'm doing this for a 2010 Air and it works ok, the only thing is the size of the share screen window is not scalable and doesn't fill up the full 27" of the TBD.
