How many hours a week do you work?

32 hours a week. 4 nights. Can pick up extra hours if I want

Anywhere from 35 - 45 hours a week. Average is about 40. Varies as I am a web content manager and what period of the year we are in (I work at a research foundation that does a lot of training and research in security sector reform). 25 days holiday per year in addition to statutory holidays, plus we close down between Xmas and New Years.

I work 48 hours per week. I feel tired . Everyday I go home. I just wanna sleep.I don't have time to spend with my family.

Retired college professor (see screen name), but have a part-time job (22 hours/week) as a business manager. Taught mechanical engineering for far too long. Miss the students the most.

40 hrs only. I work in Software Consulting. I was working more than 70 hrs a week before but I realized that time with my 4 year old kid is better than making your employer happy.

Just 40, thank goodness! I work as a lab tech in a large clinic.

40-50 hours a week, 5 sometimes 6 days a week. I also run a small side business that takes 3-6 hours a week, give or take. I also work out at the gym for about an hour 4-6 nights a week.

My work is fairly easy and the environment I work in is enjoyable (it's your typical "cubical office" type place, but we keep it loose around there and my co-workers are cool). But even so, it gets tiring towards the end of the week.

But pay and taxes equalize that out. If you took 4w unpaid in the USA then it would even things up.

I work six 12 hour days in a row and then I'm off 8 days. The workaholic in me got another job on my 8 days off so I do another 40 hours in that 8 days. All that said, I do 112 hrs every 2 weeks. 12 days on, 2 days off then repeat. Gotta pay for all these apple products. lol

Right now about 8-20, depending on the projects I take on. Although Fallout 4 has become tedious and feels like work, so I might change that to 100 hrs a week.

I am salaried and work between two hospitals. Right now, I'm generally working about 50/wk, which is far better than it used to be earlier in my residency. I often find myself at home prepping more stuff work... So maybe I'm closer to 55/wk. I'm lucky to now be regularly getting 2 days off a week, though often times I'm on call for consultation. I actually had all last week off for Hanukkah, with the exception of 2 days on call.

I am however also involved with a startup though too. Recently, things have been taking off and I'm spending probably another 15-20 hrs a week on that. Thankfully I'm not in charge and don't have a ton of responsibility falling on my shoulders at this point.

70+ hours a week.. I guess it sounds like a lot. Considering I've never dedicated too much of my life to sleep (at any point in my life), I suppose it's okay. Work gives me purpose, purpose makes me happy, and despite lots of work, I still find time for myself, significant other, friends, etc. I hope my effort now will pay off later down the road too

As an airline pilot, I used to work 75-80 hrs a month... however, this does not reflect the amount of time I actually spent devoted to my job, only representing the time were I was officially on the clock.

40. Tech support for a small company. Love the job and the people, hate the wage and the way the MD talks about money. Salary rather than hourly, though overtime is unpaid if I take extra time to finish off a long call.

Worked here for 4 1/2 years, so certainly there must be something good about it.

Damn! You would think in a job like this, where focus and precision is absolutely essential, you wouldn't want to work someone to the point where they're a walking zombie pushing 54-85 hrs/week.

Is a "resident" basically a "surgeon in training"?

I used to do 60-75 hour weeks. Finally left corporate America a little over a year ago and I only spend 45 hours a week in the office and maybe another 10 working from home.

Work 40 hours/week (includes 30 min lunch break every day) as a software engineer. Usually not any overtime, as the company prefers the employees to be 100% focused And 5 weeks vacation (max 3 weeks in a row).

Totally happy with it! I have a company on the side with mainly passive income ($30k/year) and working on a new start up of mine. So actual work hours in total might be around 50-60. But those "extra" hours are just myself in my own company, so if I want to take a days break, I can just do that. So I actually don't count those as work :-D

Yep. I'm a surgeon in training. My hours are actually quite good. I come in below the 80 hour per week duty hour restriction. I for see a ****** December because of my current rotation, but what can I do? I want to operate.

My hours are about the same as I initially posted, I'm averaging about 53 hours a week at this point.

I work from home as contractor and kinda manage my own time, in that some days I work a few hours while others I work many hours.... also if I have something else to do on some weekdays I can work on weekends and so on, it depends but it's nice to have this flexibility

I work in college sports... About 45 hours in the fall and winter and 35-40 in the summer.
