Didsy me did the unthinkable and left my iPad in the seat pocket of my EasyJet flight into Gatwick. Realised soon as I was off the gangway but they would not let me back on the plane. Security and all that. Reported it immediately to baggage agent but simply told to fill in a form. Cleared customs and went straight to Sales Desk. Told to wait an hour or so while they turned the plane around but nothing was handed in. Went home dejected.

Next day I received an email informing me my iPad had been located and arranged to get it returned to me. iPad and me reunited today. Result!

I know I am extremely lucky but if the same was to happen to you persevere and report it missing immediately.

Congrats, I've done with headphones and such... really felt ******, especially because they were those 80$ apple in ear ones, looking back now I hated those things, just wish I could have had the chance to sell them or something XP

My mom left her first gen iPad on a flight once during a business trip. Didn't realize it until the next morning after she had settled in and was going to use the device.

Called the airline and filled out paperwork, but never got the device back. This was before the app to find her ipad was available so she never did get it back...

I hate the fact that they won't let you go back to get something you forgot. If there's a security issue, is it that hard for them to simply escort you? You're still in the secure area of the airport anyway! And they can use your seat assignment to ensure you're not just looking to grab the first forgotten iPad you see.

I very nearly did this with my iPad in December on a flight from Durban to Johannesburg, luckily my younger brother was sitting next to me and remembered it just before disembarking from the plane. It's crazy how easily one can forget things in those seat pockets.

Glad you got your iPad back, I would have been so crushed if it was me and I had to leave the airport without it.

Nice to see that there are people honest enough to return your iPad to you, OP.

My faith in mankind restored.

Yeah - would have been an altogether different scenario if I had said I left my passport with my iPad on the plane :D

Very glad you got your iPad back. I'm sure you're not the only one who has left their iPad on the plane!

Must rank second to people who 'miss' their flight.

Very glad it worked out for you, OP. iPads are so expensive to replace.

I remember last year there was a rash of TSA agents stealing iPads and having the findmyiphone app actually track the police to their homes!

Good to see that there are still some honest people out there.

I'm glad you were able to get your iPad back! We gotta make sure to put these things back in our carry-ons before leaving our seats.

I almost did the same thing with my first gen iPad two years ago after arriving in Zurich. This is an odd story...I hadn't left the plane yet, and since I was around folks from my summer abroad group, the initial fight through traffic to retrieve it wasn't as bad. BUT, once I got to my row, a little old Swiss-German lady had my iPad in her hand, and was saying it was hers! I was dumbfounded! Told her to unlock it with her passcode - of course she couldn't do it. I must say this is the meanest I've ever been to an elder, and it wasn't a pleasant introduction to Swiss Germans. Hahaha. Luckily the rest of the trip was a dream and I'll never forget it.

Now, this mustn't happen with my mini in my flight to NYC in May. :-/

I was so tired on a red eye once that I nearly left behind my iPad twice. Once at the ticket counter--and a airline employee brought it to me -- and then again in the seat pocket. I realized before I left the plane that it was there thankfully.

Maybe my subconscious is telling me that I want to buy a new iPad.

At restaurants, I tell the kids that they can call me an idiot if they catch me leaving my iPad on the table when we get up to leave. No amount of cash could get them to watch my iPad closer, and it makes me extra cautious because no way am I gonna let some little punk-a$$ kid call me an idiot. Win win.

Regards,
Tom
