Why no Mac versions of iOS apps? No new development?
There are a mess of iOS apps that really have little to do with mobile that could easily be made available on Mac OS X, yet Apple does not provide them. Does this indicate that Apple has given up on Mac development?

As for Apple maps, I suppose somebody might be driving around with their MBP but I really can understand Apple omitting this one. After all, there's always google maps in the browser. Lastly for Find My Friends, I don't care one way or another because I never use it. BUT... I had really hoped Apple would replace the Dashboard with an iOS emulator that allows me to run ALL my iOS apps on my Mac. Oh well. Maybe someday...

you dont have to be driving around to use a map. What about if someone wants to plan their route before they go?

Because they want you to buy an iPad.

All I can suggest is be another person providing iBooks feedback to Apple. Explain why you want it, etc.
I know many people who have provided feedback. They just need more I guess.

Right... because they wouldn't make any money of a Mac? Not like I'm asking about iBooks for Windows. This is iBooks for Mac.

Why does Notification Center not work on Lion because, they want you to buy Mountain Lion. Why does a headless iMac not exist because, it'd cut into other Mac desktop sales. Why does iBooks not exist on the Mac, because it'd cut into iPad sales.

Apple no longer sells Lion nor Snow Leopard. So they want you to buy Mountain Lion. Apple makes more money from a $3000 MacBook Pro than they do from a $329 ipad mini. They don't make it because they don't think there's as much interest in it. Their focus is on iOS apps. Folks are downloading billions of them. It's the new wave. Easy for them to willfully forget Mac apps.

Which is why they want you to buy an iPad.
