Achieving Fusion Drive in 2011 iMac

Just a thought, if the Fusion drive concept is just a hybrid SSD/HDD and some clever software do you guys think that a 2011 iMac with dual-drive SSD/HDD could be configured in software manner to move files around between the SSD and HDD based on usage?
