Retrieve Special 2012 OSX 10.8.2 Build (12C2034) From Recovery HD

Hey All,

For those who are advanced and handle their own installations often, I am sure you know how to do this.

But for those who are either new to mac or new to reinstalling, if you want to do a fresh install of the special build from a external device, this is probably the best way to retrieve the image if you want to go through with it.

The link will show how to reveal the "Recovery HD" partition becuase it is typically hidden. Then from disk utility, you just create an image on an external disk (e.g. usb flash drive, external hard driver,...).

Hope this helps some people.

It's always good to hear of other ways to do things. Thanks for sharing. Seems that this is not a common way to create an installer since most just download from the Mac App Store.

I think I am going to try the Internet Recovery to setup my new SSD but first I will use one of the methods above to create a bootable USB Pen Drive as a backup
