Still no sounds in Facebook Messenger 6.0.1

clearly mr forstall doesnt use facebook...

but i would like to let him know via MAC RUMORS that not everyone of my friends use Whatsapp, or Viber, or the carriers SMS service, or what not.

Some use FACEBOOK MESSENGER to send messages.

No beep, no alert, means no or delayed replies.

how hard is to put sounds on this app?

Don't use FB messenger, but FB app still has no sound on notifications.

Notification sounds on the Fb app does not work, but does work on the fb messenger app and it always worked for me.

The developer needs to update the Facebook app.
The app itself controls what sound if any the app makes.
iOS does not control the sound an app makes.

And they need to add the option to get rid of the 'preview' in the lock screen and notification banners, like you can with Whatsapp and Messages.

I don't want people to be able to read what someone has sent me from my lock screen, if Whatsapp can do this I'm sure it's not beyond Facebooks engineers...
